Quick Tour through NotePlan – NotePlan app – Medium
NotePlan — Markdown Calendar (version 2.0)
In the general notes section you can write simple text notes outside of the calendar. Notes can be tagged in this section in the bottom area (of the note) and then filtered in the overview. Keyboard navigation and right click can be used here. Each note has a small menu icon on hovering for duplicating and deleting.
Dynalist is one of the best bullet-based to-do list apps and it’s becoming popular fast. It comes with Markdown support, tags, due dates, and internal links, among other features.

"It's ideal for planning out your day, Bullet Journal style. [...] the combination of scheduling, tagging, and (plain text, portable) notes in one place makes it a true productivity tool." Spectacle is a free, no-nonsense way to switch between various window sizes and positions with keyboard shortcuts. It’s lightweight and easy to set up. Spectacle doesn’t add to menu bar clutter; you can hide its menu bar icon and summon it from the background with a shortcut or with Spotlight. I also find Apple drive more useful these days. This is for stuff I use every day and can see my computer desktop files on my mobile device. New Mac apps of the week This is exactly what I've been looking for. I tried to fill in the gap with org-mode a while back, but I fell out with it. It simply doesn't cross the gap of calendars, ad hoc meetings, etc. It’s a neat mashup of apps like WhatsApp and SnapChat. You pick a photo, edit it with text and emojis, and then pick one of your contacts to call. When their phone rings, they see the picture you just created. You can also just send pics without making a call, so you don’t always need to talk to someone just to show them a photo. You can literally put R code snippet in your org document and execute it straight from there but that's just one of the many features org mode has to offer I’m actually using it with “beorg” (iOS) and find it to be incredibly useful (and cross-platform). I use it for notes, outlines of lectures etc as well as managing my calendar.
